Textiles
The Textiles project uses donated soft materials to create a variety of quality, fabric products. On the textiles project, you will learn to use hand-sewing techniques and machine skills to create fabric-based items from material that has been donated to the Acorn Reuse Centre.
We will help you identify an achievable product to work on, depending on skill and sewing experience, then using a range of skills you have learned and developed you can complete your item. This is then sold in our Acorn shop.
The Textiles project makes various products such as fabric gift bags, door stops, aprons, cushions and peg bags. You will usually make two of each item to allow practice and skill development.
